Working on Wellness: Mental Health Awareness Month Week 4
Week 4: Creating a Culture of Support
Mental health is something we all share, and supporting it works best when we work together. Creating a culture of support doesn’t mean everything is perfect, it means building a place where people feel respected, supported, and comfortable being themselves.
Part of creating that culture is reducing the stigma around mental health. Stigma can prevent people from speaking up, asking for help, or feeling understood. Open conversations, empathy, and small everyday actions can make a meaningful difference.
This week, consider ways you can support one another and help reduce stigma:
• Start a conversation about mental health, keep it simple, genuine, and supportive
• Listen without judgment when someone shares how they’re feeling
• Use respectful and encouraging language
• Check in with a coworker, friend, or loved one
• Share resources or coping strategies that have helped you
• Encourage breaks and prioritizing well-being
• Lead by example by making mental health and self-care a normal part of everyday conversation
When we support each other, we create space for more understanding, stronger connections, and a healthier workplace for everyone.
