2nd & 3rd Quarter Excellence Winners!

2nd & 3rd quarter Excellence Winners have been selected for projects that exemplified excellence!

2nd Quarter Excellence Winner - Dennis Simon

Dennis was selected as the second quarter “Excellence” winner. He was nominated for his help with a metering solution for the Olympic View Generating Plant (OVGP). The generators were sold separately from the building and land and had to be dismantled and removed from the building before the sale. Because of the way the electrical was originally designed it posed a challenge which could have derailed both transactions. Dennis took the time to put together drawings, pictures, and instructions for a proposed metering plan. Without his project management, the removal of the OVGP generators would not have been as successful and cost-effective as it was. Well done, Dennis!

3rd Quarter Excellence Winner - Sam Pettis

Another incredible effort by Sam has made him the selection of the third quarter “Excellence” winner! The District had a need to bring in a large volume of distribution poles (105, 45 foot class 4 poles) however we needed somewhere to store them. The unusually high number of poles were needed for several reasons, such as: ongoing purchasing issues causing long lead-times for poles, historical system growth (committed jobs), fiber grants deadlines and requirements, preparing for storm season, and the identification of reject poles by our Pole Inspection Test and Treat (PITT) program. Sam was able to save the District thousands of dollars with his fabrication of pole bunks. Outsourcing the work would likely have been over $50,000 and taken months to work through the procurement processes. Sam’s design and construction cost around $6,000 and was done timely and efficiently. Great job Sam!
