Each Quarter Annette selects from the noteworthy performance nominations turned in and designated as “excellent” to pick an overall winner for that Quarter. Sam has been involved in several projects the last few months, resulting in time and cost savings to the District, making him an easy choice for the employee who best demonstrated “Excellence” for this time period. Well done Sam!

Some of Sam’s most recent projects include:

  • Customizing a new mud truck, making it easier to access pumps and hoses, resulting in increased efficiency in the field.

  • Creating a powder-coating oven and spray booth instead of buying one, saving the District approximately $4,000.

  • While working on the landscaping, Sam discovered the sprinkler layout was wasting water. He capped off and removed unnecessary sprinklers, found leaks and repaired them, and changed the frequency programming for watering.

Sam’s willingness to go above and beyond his daily duties has not gone unnoticed - In addition, he has taken a proactive approach toward the landscaping and mentoring of the facilities students resulting in noticeable improvement to the JP grounds.
