Rebates to Convert from Wood Burning to Electric Heat

Do you or someone you know have a wood stove, fireplace, or fireplace insert and live near the City of Shelton?

Olympic Region Clean Air Agency (ORCAA) is offering a 💰REBATE of $1,800💰 to replace it with an energy efficient ductless heat pump! This offer can be used in partnership with PUD 3's $800 DHP rebate. WOW!

To help reduce the amount of fine particulate matter (PM 2.5) in the most densely populated area of Mason County, ORCAA secured a Wood Smoke Reduction grant from Washington Department of Ecology to provide wood stove replacement rebates.

There are also rebates available from ORCAA for the installation of other electric heating systems ($1,200) and the removal and destruction of old, uncertified wood appliances ($500).

In order to qualify, residents must remove and destroy one or more of the following:

  • pre-2000 certified wood stoves

  • pre-2000 certified fireplace inserts

  • uncertified wood stoves

  • uncertified fireplace inserts

  • free-standing metal fireplaces
