The annual kickoff to the holiday season is BACK! Downtown Shelton knows just how to kick off the season with theHOLIDAY MAGIC event! This annual event is a joint effort between the Kristmas Town Kiwanis and the Shelton Downtown Merchants to create two days of merriment and family activities. A favorite among many mason county citizens, the Christmas Parade is as “home town” as it gets, don’t miss out!

  • GOING FOR THE GUINNESS RECORD:

This year Shelton is taking the Hallmark Channel head on. Historically known as the “Christmas Tree Capital of the World,” Shelton and Mason County are celebrating this distinction with an attempt at the Guinness World Record for “Most Lit Christmas Trees” in one location. The current record was set by Hallmark in 2015 when they lit 559 trees in a New York park.

Shelton’s attempt will be logged December 7th during the annual parade. The 600+ trees will be arranged in a lighted maze that families can explore along with Santa visits, hot chocolate, apple cider, food, caroling, gingerbread house contests, live music, gift workshops, and vendors at the “12 Days of Christmas” with an all new Christmastown Market.

Trees will be either replanted, donated to families in need or can be purchased with a minimum $10 donation for Toys for Tots, Seattle Children’s Hospital or the local food bank.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 8:

  • CHRISTMASTOWN USA CHRISTMAS TREE MAZE (NEW!!) 4:00-8:00 PM

It began with a Guinness Book of World Records attempt for the most lighted Christmas trees in one area. PUD 3 plays a part in that effort too! If that wasn't exciting enough, the lighted display will be arranged in an interactive maze where you can take in the sheer wonder of it all. The maze will be open weekdays from 4:00 - 8:00 PM and weekends 12:00 - 8:00 PM until December 15 when the trees will be sold or donated to families across Mason County.
