Open Enrollment - 2020 Plan Year

The month of November is open enrollment for our insurance plans. On October 22, 2019 the commissioners voted to adopt recommendations made by the insurance committee regarding renewals for the 2020 plan year.

  • Kaiser Permanente premium will increase by less than 1%.

  • Self-Insured Medical & Vision plan will renew with a 10% increase to premiums.

  • MetLife (PUD paid dental benefit) will receive an 4% increase.

  • Short-Term Disability will see a rate drop from our current rate of $0.54 to a new rate of $0.035, these changes are due to the implementation of the Washington State Paid Family and Medical Leave benefits available January 1st of 2020. Information on how STD will coordinate with the Paid Family and Medical Leave will be available next week.

  • Long-Term Disability rates will remain the same. 

If you would like to change medical plans, make a change to your dependent election, or if you would like to change your insurance premium status of post-tax or pre-tax notify Sarah by November 29, 2019.
