Retirement Announcement - Nick Earsley Retiring after 39 Years!
Please join us in congratulating Nick Earsley who has announced his retirement effective March 12, 2021. Nick has worked for PUD 3 for over 39 years!
He began his career at PUD as a Student Trainee Draftsman in 1980 and was hired as a full-time Engineering Assistant in 1981 leading to a series of promotions and title changes over the years:
1994 System Maintenance Coordinator
1997 Maintenance Engineer
1998 Senior Maintenance Engineer
2000 Maintenance Engineering Supervisor
2016 Engineering Project Manager-Right of Way Specialist.
In 2018, Nick received another promotion to Operations Crew Coordinator where he remains today.
Nick’s contribution to the utility is immeasurable. For years, he was the face of the PUD at emergency scenes all hours of the day or night. His friendly disposition made him a great representative of the PUD. We will continue to benefit from the relationships that Nick built throughout the community with the city, county, state, and other organizations. His character and dedication builds trust with those around him. Nick is always willing to lend a helping hand, provide input on an issue, or spend time mentoring new or seasoned employees. He has conducted countless investigations, either protecting the District from liability, or building a case to recover losses. In his latest role, Nick’s engineering knowledge and experience has brought value to the operations team - being able to bridge the gap in processes and timelines. Ending his career during a pandemic is one thing, but now more than ever the workload Nick juggles is incredible. He is challenged with maneuvering schedules to meet the increase in crew work (due to the combination of increases in service applications and make-ready work to comply with the timeline of the telecom grants) all while complying with COVID-19 restrictions. As a friend, a co-worker, and as a PUD ambassador, Nick will be impossible to replace.
He has certainly had an exceptional career! Congratulations Nick and thank you for your years of service - your legacy at PUD 3 means that our customers and employees will benefit for decades to come.
