Retirement Announcement - Congratulations John!

Please join us in extending our heartfelt congratulations to John Bennett as he prepares for his well-deserved retirement!

John began his journey with PUD 3 in 1995 as a Systems Analyst, and in 1997, he assumed the role of Information Systems Project Manager, which he held until 1999. John then ventured into a different career path, working as Mason General Hospital’s first IS Manager. During his time at the hospital, John's expertise led to an invitation to speak at a legislative hearing regarding PUDs' telecommunications rights. John addressed the legislators, informing them of the critical need for telecommunications services at the local hospital, which, at that time, were not available.  John’s impactful speech undoubtedly played a role in PUDs’ being granted the rights to build open access fiber networks, paving the way for local communities to gain access to various connectivity options!

PUD 3 was fortunate to have John return in 2001 as the IS Manager, a position he has held for the longest tenure in PUD 3’s history. Throughout his impressive career, John has been involved in 37 system implementations or conversions at PUD 3. Notably, he played a crucial role in the transitions from System 36 to HTE and from HTE to the current NISC system.

John's last day is July 3rd. Be sure to stop in the main lunchroom between 9-11 to wish him well and snack on some popcorn.

Your years of dedicated effort, leadership, positive outlook, and awesome IT skills have made a lasting impact. Your absence will undoubtedly be felt, and you will be sincerely missed.
