Here is the news release sent this week:
On the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 30, through the morning of Aug. 31 approximately 104 customers along a portion of North Shore Road and some surrounding roadways will experience a planned power outage from approximately 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Crews will move some of PUD 3’s power lines and poles to accommodate Mason County Public Works’ fish culvert project. By de-energizing the lines, crews can work more efficiently and safely. Overnight outages are held to avoid peak power usage times and be of the least inconvenience for customers.
There may also be traffic delays due to alternating traffic. Flaggers will be set up on both sides of the North Shore Road.
The work will affect customers from about the 8100 block to the 9700 block of North Shore Road, as well as NE Bel Aire Drive and NE Milwood Circle. Customers affected by the outage will be notified by mail and other methods they have selected (email, phone call, text message, SmartHub notifications).
During any outage, PUD 3 recommends unplugging sensitive appliances and electronic equipment until power has been restored for about 20 minutes. Also, especially with electronics, it is important to use surge protectors. Customers can visit www.pud3.org/prepared to find other tips and suggestions. It is especially important for customers with medical equipment or other health requirements, relying on a constant source of power, to have back-up generators or alternative accommodations arranged.
