Safety Tip Thursday - National Preparedness Month - Week 1

It’s National Preparedness Month!

For each Thursday during the month of September, we will hold employee challenges with prize drawings. These challenges will help improve employee and community preparedness. The weekly giveaways will be a Bronze Level Safety Incentive. Winners will be announced on the following Tuesday. Any employee who completes all four challenges will be entered to win the Grand Prize of a Gold Level Safety Incentive (if you miss one week, you CAN catch up).

Week 1 - Make a Plan

1. Put a plan together by discussing with your family and friends.

  • How will I receive emergency alerts and warnings?

  • What is my family/household communication plan?

  • Do I need to update my emergency preparedness kit?

2. Consider specific needs of your household.

Tailor your plans and supplies to your specific daily living needs and responsibilities.

  • Different ages of members within your household

  • Care of children, business or pets

  • Responsibilities for assisting others

  • Locations frequented

  • Dietary needs

  • Medical needs - prescriptions and equipment

  • Languages spoken
