ATTENTION: Help Us Maintain Our RP3 Designation for Public Power Excellence!

The American Public Power Association’s Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) designation recognizes public power utilities that demonstrate leading practices in four areas: reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement. RP3 designation is a sign of dedication to operate an efficient, safe, and reliable distribution system.

Every 3 years, PUD 3 completes a rigorous online application to show evidence of best practices in each category. An 18-member panel of national public power experts score the applications and award the RP3 designation based on the extent to which program criteria is met:

• Diamond: 98-100%

• Platinum: 90-<98%

• Gold: 80-<90%

251 of the nation's more than 2,000 public power utilities hold a RP3 designation. Currently PUD 3 holds a Diamond Level Designation –the highest designation given.

We are in the process of completing our 2025 application and we need your help!

Please fill out the form below to indicate your participation the last 3 years (October 1, 2022 - September 30, 2025) in professional, community leadership, and service-based organizations.

Examples:

  • Professional organization and/or boards: APPA, NoaNet, NWPPA, SHRM, PPC, etc.

  • Community leadership organization and/or boards: Chamber of Commerce, Community Associations, Economic Development Council, etc.

  • Service-based volunteer organizations: Boy Scouts, MCYBA, Kiwanis, Youth Football, Rotary, etc.
