Normal procedures will be followed during a pandemic event for reporting absences in that employees must notify their supervisor to report an absence prior to the start of their shift. The supervisor will then use this web form on the intranet to document the absence. In the event that the employee is unable to reach their supervisor, they should use this webform directly to report their absence.

The web form will be used to report absences related to both the employee’s own illness and that of a family member if it results in the absence of the employee. All flu-related absences must be reported via the webform, including partial day absences. To the extent possible during a pandemic event, confidentiality as to specific employee health situations should be maintained by all supervisors and employees.
